Bharatiya Janata Party claims credit for package deal for SCS
While the Telugu Desam is trying to take credit for the Union government’s special package to AP, the BJP started a campaign to claim credit for it too.
Former minister and Senior BJP leader Kanna Lakshminarayana claimed that the BJP leaders had explained about the necessity of announcing Special Category Status (SCS) or Special Package to AP by BJP national president Amit Shah during the recent BJP office-bearers meeting at vijayawada.
He said that the efforts yielded good results as the BJP government agreed for a special package and is going to announce it.
Mr Lakshminarayana alleged that some political parties spoiled AP state in the name of Samaikyandhra move ment and are now trying to disturb the development of AP in the name SCS.
Addressing a press meet at Guntur on Wednesday, he asked the public not to fall in the trap of political parties and anti-social elements which were provoking the public in the name of SCS.
He claimed that the BJP government had given Rs. 1,40,00,000 crore aid to the AP government till date for developing AP state and further planning to give huge funds compared to the SCS. He said that no state Will get SCS and it would not be renewed to the states in the year 2017 which are already enjoying the SCS.
Mr Lakshminarayana demanded submission of Detailed Project Reports for new capital Amaravati and funds usage by the state ggov. ernment to the BJP-led Union government and demanded stopping of diversion of the Union government funds. He said the state government cannot claim credit for the funds released by the Union government and should clarify on the issue.
