NGOs cautious on special package to Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (NGOs) are in “wait and see” mode now to react on the Centre’s package and recent developments.
The NGO leaders are assessing the pros and cons of the special assistance announced. Earlier, APNGOs president Ashok Babu had announced that they will come on to roads if political parties fail to get special package from the Centre. Now they are having second thoughts on prote. st for special category status. If the government accepts special package given by the Central government, if it is acceptable by all means, then they have to think about SCS, Mir Ashok Babu told this correspondent.
He also said that they are verifying with the finance department as to what benefits the people get, and what is the loss they have to experience. After a review, they will take a decision by conducting an executive committee meet of NGOs, he added.
In a press conference at Vijayawada on August 29, Mr Ashok babu had demanded the SCS and slammed the NDA government for the delay in giving it. He also said that the NGOs will fight and show their protest until the Centre announces SCS.
“Once we come to a conclusion that there will be no benefit with special assistance, definitely our action plan will start. As public servants, we will go with public mood, no other option to us except to fight,” Mr Ashok babu observed.
“If we feel that the Centre is neglecting us intentionally, then we will take a decision as to how to go about,” he added.
