SMART PULSE SURVEY AT SNAIL’S PACE
The prestigious Smart Pulse Survey started by the state government is moving at a snail’s pace in Guntur city due to technical snags despite completing of two months.
The Smart Pulse Survey has to complete a survey of 7.5 lakh population in Guntur city, but only survey of 6,699 persons was completed in the past two months.
The survey was started on July 2 in Guntur city with 315 enumerators with a target to complete the task in two phases from July 8 to 31 and August 6 to 14. The merged 10 adjacent villages come under Guntur and the Guntur Municipal Corporation gave training to the enumerators to conduct SPS in 60 wards of the city.
The enumerators were appointed from various departments and they are facing difficulties to operate the SPS application in the tablets. Further, server linking problem and connectivity problems are haunting the staff. Some enumerators, on the condition of anonymity, said that the tablets given to them are of poor quality. They said that small quantity of ram in the tablets was hinderiking the survey.
